Just curious, what cooler are you using?

Corsair H80 closed loop water.
I've also done the de-lid trick. So I've re appled some mx4 thermal paste between silicon and IHS, as well as between IHS and cooler. I was hoping for direct contact cooler to silicon, but alas the socket doesn't mechanically allow for that. I think I need to get a special cool that caters for that. -- Craig |

Holy hell. I can totally see how good a stock cooler would be for overclocking a Haswell... that without delidding.

I had something similar. It happened when exiting prime95. It went away when I turned off all the energy-saving C states in the BIOS as well as speed step (EIST?).
How fast is your memory? My two Haswells are still not stable. I get a reboot every few days. I have no clue where the problem lies. I'm trying increasing various voltages so far to no avail. If you achieve a fully stable system, please share the settings that worked for you. |

I basically left all the voltages on auto.
I'm also running CPUID HWMonitor which tells me temps. Actual model of memory is: G Skill F3-2400C10-4GTX Currently running at 1.65V/2400. FSB:DRAM ratio of 1:9, 10-12-12-31-2T, XMP profile 1. From reading around the place, I get the impression 2400 ram is a sweet spot for haswells. I wouldn't take my case as the definitive temps for de-lidding. I think I did a crap job myself applying paste - there's a temp delta of 10degC (ish) across all 4cores. -- Craig |

What's your good word on de-lidding? How much useful experience would you say you had going in?

The big mistake many make for the thermal paste: too much rather than too little.
