Taken. Would it be very wrong of me to change the last 1 to 0 to trick mprime into doing a bit more P-1 factoring on the numbers?

It would be a little inefficient from an overall GIMPS throughput perspective. But it's your computer to enjoy as you choose, so there would be nothing wrong with doing a little extra work.
