There's a competition out there to win one of these beasts. I won't post the link just in case it's against forum rules but it's very easy to find with a Google search.

Let's hope that they won't forget to include the DP performance switch into their Linux drivers/utilities...

I'd certainly like that contradiction with the anandtech benchmark resolved before I plunk down a grand on one of these cards!

Sacrifice is necessary.
We know we share this pain with all of the people of our forum.
We're still pioneers.

I have mine (pre)ordered along with some new parts to complete the system. Newegg shows it will release on 28 Feb, but who knows about actual shipping dates. It shoudn't take me long to get it up and running as long as everything works. I'll post benchmarks from mfaktc right away and then I'll get CuLu running for a while to see what it can do.

Sweet!!!

I have to say I'm a little surprised that mfaktc and CUDALucas do not appear to be on the main-stream reviewer's radar. As far as I've seen, folding@home is the only serious application bench-marked by only a few reviewers.

Me too! I've been reading and reading to see if anyone even mentions it... so far nothing. I even bugged nVidia for a chance to do a little pre-release testing of my own, but they didn't really seem to care. One way or another we'll get their attention.

Great!
I believe you can resolve the problem.

Perhaps we should start a fund for wanted hardware.

This card looks like to be one to use for LL testing.

This part below (in page 4 of the article, which by the way was linked just before by George) is quite smelly. I mean, it smells like nVidia paid benchmarks. I mean, people here know that I am totally for Nvidia (as oposed to Radeon), but you can't step over the fact that Radeon cards are 10 times better when it comes to hash algorithms (this actually stays like a needle in my butt, hehe). If you look on the "bitcoin mining" forums, you know what I am talking about. Additionally, I asked someone from our "hacking circle of friends" and he said there is no problem to run Aopr on newest AMD cards.
Quote:
Our second test is one of our new tests, utilizing Elcomsoft’s Advanced Office Password Recovery utility to take a look at GPU password generation. AOPR has separate CUDA and OpenCL kernels for NVIDIA and AMD cards respectively, which means it doesn’t follow the same code path on all GPUs but it is using an optimal path for each GPU it can handle. Unfortunately we’re having trouble getting it to recognize AMD 7900 series cards in this build, so we only have CUDA cards for the time being.
