This sounds interesting...

For some reason, a Google search of Joseph Lykken isn't turning up any actual science papers. Anyone got any ideas for where I else might try to get an accurate idea of what actually happened here? |

Speaking of M49, there's a galaxy called that. It's 51700000-57300000 ly away. So if a Higgs-based doomsday occurs in that galaxy, we'll be safe for at most 57885161 years.
