How do we know which work is done and which isn't, or is that updated in the nofactor.zip? Then i guess i just need to download this file everytime they make an update... Thanks for all the help -michael |

The Master Database is updated roughly every week or so (check the "Last update" date in GIMPS Status page). The data in nofactor.zip have the form xxxxxx,yy where xxxxxx is the exponent and yy the bit level up to where it has already been TFed. Say you are Trial Factoring to 61 bits a bunch of exponents that were done to 60 bits. After submitting the results, wait for the next update of the database and check to see if the exponents you worked on now show xxxxxx,61 instead of xxxxxx,60 (and the ones for which a factor was found should no longer be in the file). See the following thread to be aware how the reservation system works: http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthr...=&threadid=384
And, most important, have fun
