Black's C-c-c-colin-Firth move

5...d6 is being good enough as since it frees the light colored bishop, right at the c8 square,
prevents intrusion at e5, such that we can be able to prepare for the Nf6 move during the next turn itself.

On the other hand, consider with 5...e6, it consolidates the central square d5, but blocks the light colored bishop, not a problem if 6...d5 7...exd5.
but it seriously weakens the dark squares for black such as f6, where the knight should be moved, not preferrably at e7, h6 at all - h6 being an inactive square, e7 being blocking the queen's path, but the queen has got an other path to move with - namely, the other direction.

The remaining moves, including with 5...h6, 5...Qa5, 5...Rb8, 5...b6, 5...a6, the rest, hardly does anything enough in order to improve with the mobility of the other pieces itself, rather as such, as since though

not sure e5 allows fxe5 on their part, f5 allows exf5 , capturing the knight allows them to open up their queen more than they already have ( though it could open other things instead), e5 was my first thought but I'm unsure.

going for 5...d6 too.

To me at least it seems kinda premature to start trading pawns when our back is still clogged up, as Raman pointed out. I think d6 is good move.
