Bg2 would thoroughly stop black doing d5 which looks a very strong position for black. f4 is still possible as it can be followed by Bg2 but this looks a weaker position to me.

IMO either f4 or d3 needs to be done soon otherwise black could do Bh6 attacking the bishop on c1 if we then do d3. If this happens black can exchange bishops forcing the queen out of the centre.

I would recommend Bg2. If we don't do this black looks worryingly strong with d5.

I watched that very informative video; thanks for the link! I agree with Bg2 as our next move. It's the standard Closed Sicilian opening.

Sounds to me like we should make the move now although I do hate moving without zeta.

Zeta-Flux is a strong player. I know that from some analysis of a king and pawn ending (correcting my own) which he provided during a discussion years ago. So perhaps we should just wait for a while to see if he has any comment which could sway our decision. Your call, though, Henry.

We will wait another day or two. He hasn't actually been on the forum since the last move was made.

Ah, sorry. I was guessing that the blurb by your avitar was reliable, but of course that is not the case since it just gets added at the whim of the gerbils.:smile:

Sorry, I was at a conference over the weekend, and had to catch up with work on Monday.

Bg2 sounds good. I also like d3 because it prevents the attack Bh6 would create.
