Primenet Error 7: invalid parameter

Hello. Im new to this program. I am having some problems on my pc and Nividia help staff told me to try this out to test my system for hardware problems. Anways, i get the error when it tries to connect to the server:

Primenet Error 7: Invalid Parameter

What does it mean and how do i fix it?

You would need to provide a bit more details.

What is the version of Prime95 and what was the source of it? (Did you get the latest distribution from here -- or from some torture-test related bundle for testing the newly assembled computers and whatnot?)

When and how does your system try to connect to the server?

If you're only stress testing, then Prime95 shouldn't be contacting the server at all. Go to the options menu and click "Quit GIMPS", and then "immediately" if a second option appears. After that, also in the options menu, is the option to run the torture test.
