EDIT: Besides, I found the Yak during the Great Button Delivery Caper. I discount the ignorant label which described this smiley as "Opera". Perhaps it is an operatic, as well as irritable, Yak.

Referring to my posting earlier(maybe a different thread) about why I found homosexual marriage offensive(the proposed tax benefits) under a Christ-approved tax system, the reason for being offended wouldn't exist. It would simply be,"If you don't want to pay the tax, don't buy the product."

Here's a short but well-written article detailing what human rights are and what they are not when it comes to freedom to practise your religion.

The small town paper where I went to college had/possibly still has a column that is filled with the ramblings that people leave on the answering machines. They were always enjoyable. This is not that column, but is also fun in a similar vein.

Thank you for sharing this! This is truly a brilliant example. The only thing she seems not to blame atheists for is rain, but even then... you cannot be sure. Maybe they caused rain as well.

Tolstoy Russian satirists I.Ilf and Petrov (more widely known for the "12 chairs" novel) had a short character vigniette once (I am recreating it from memory): Someone asks the old maid why she never goes out to town; she answers "Well, there are men there on the streets. And that's indecent". -- "But they are all clothed, they can't mean harm for you", -- "But my lord, under the clothes they are naked! You won't trick me!"

So, similarly here: "Even those atheist who appear to have not committed any crime, they sure will some day." And of course, they already caused the spread of the crime. Obviously!

I've long thought that separation of church and state, the only way to
guarantee religious rights, would have been aided if the first amendment
had used the term freedom of and from religion, rather than just of.

The constitution was great and still is, but it wasn't perfect.

>Atheists are the reason crime is so rampant.

I once ordered the Darwin Fish from a webshop in the US with shipping to continental Europe. The few bucks were deducted from my credit card but after five weeks nothing had arrived. I e-mailed them and they replied they had sent another set to me. And sure, it arrived after a couple of days, the stamp on the postage confirmed this was the set sent last.

A couple of days later the first set arrived after all. So I e-mailed them that the first set had arrived and that I was OK with them deducting the same amount once more and I would resell the other set to somenone else in Europe.

The owner of the webshop replied that the customers of his webshop were so much more honest than those of other webshops. He assumed it had to do with his customers being people strongly convinced of right and wrong, hence the ordering of the Darwin Fish and the good payment statistics.

It can be argued that any belief system which can't be proven is a leap of faith.

Thus, I personally believe that the wording is just fine -- it is those who are too simple minded to understand the reality (probably because a of lack of education) which is the problem....
