Problems started last night. The status page showed some of the workers hung (time since last activity an hour or more in red). And the load average was very high (200+ the first time I noticed it).

At one point the status page showed a load average for the last minute over 700! Then I started getting "Could not connect to database", which I'm still getting whenever I try to do anything (even help.php!)

I didn't save copies of the status page so don't have exact numbers.

Is there a backup of the database anywhere?

Very odd behavior. I got it to display the status page, along with a look at the unproven prime and composite distributions. There were some PRPs down <40 digits, which would seem to indicate that there is some connectivity issues somewhere. I also got it to display the "certificates by user" page, but any clicks on number links gave the "could not connect" error. After that it dropped back to no connect at the home page.

Looks like we're out of action until Syd can give the rig a swift kick.

Late last night I was also able to get a few pages to display (off and on). When the Status Page was displayed, it showed 600+ in the load section. Also there were only 4 workers on the top of the page. I think the missing workers were:

composites < 70
prp < 300
one of the cert verifiers

Looks like someone knows: the site now says, "Server crashed. Repairing database, this will take a while."

Does anybody know what "a while" means in this context? A few hours? A few days? A few weeks?

"Server crashed. Repairing database, this will take a while."

That's the message now. So it's looks like he's aware and working on it atm.

Edit: Holy almost-simulpost, Batman!

Seems to be up again. No workers are connected yet though.

When I looked, an anonymous user had uploaded a primality certificate for a 30k (!) digit Lucus number. It's possible that's one cause of the slowness. My complements to whomever prove this number.
