I'm trying out the Windows 8 Consumer Preview at the moment and I just started Prime95 for the first time from it and got this error.

Your CPU identity is based on your hardware and Windows OS. Since you upgraded the OS prime95 was worried that you had copied the prime95 folder from a computer running Windows 7 to a new computer running Windows 8 and generated a new computer ID.
This shouldn't cause any problems. You can merge the two IDs by logging into mersenne.org and visiting the CPUs web page and checking some boxes. |

Ok, thank you. The mention of Core 2 threw me. For all I know it might have been saying that for years without my noticing. All my Prime95 work these days is anonymous anyway so I'm not concerned about merging credit.
