Los Angeles 3.80m
Chicago 2.70m
Houston 2.10m
Phoenix 1.45m
Philadelphia 1.53m
San Antonio 1.33m
San Diego 1.31m
Dallas 1.21m
Whoops

I guess I need to redefine my intuition. I don't think of Phoenix, San Antonio (especially), or San Diego as "big" cities. My point, though, was that cities aren't as big consumers of energy as one might think.

Could you clarify what you mean by "big consumers of energy" -- do you mean "per capita consumption" or "total consumption"?

Either; there's a pretty strong correlation between the two. The article suggests that industry/factories are the largest consumers.

Turning off 2x machines. power bill getting a bit much at the moment :)

I was about 2500GHz/day, that should drop down to 1100GHz-days/day ish.

Ouch. Running one dual GPU box makes me cringe when the electric bill appears.

EDIT: At least with midwest US winter coming on the heat will be welcomed instead of cast out. Already is, in fact.
