A bit breezy up there
Although it's somewhat draughty down here in Cambridge, up where the Jocks are strapping it is altogether distinctly breezy.. Look at image 13 in the second of those links to see how well wind turbines stand up to a stiff breeze.
Apparently a gust has been clocked at ~165mph --- over 260kph --- on one mountain top and at ~130mph (~210kph) at a popular ski resort. Paul |

About the wind turbine: the shutdown system failed when critical wind speed was reached, it's a very good picture. Thank you.
