So I would like for GPU272 workers to get as much access as possible to those below 45M (after proper factoring of course).
Just realized that the Anonymous transfer trick won't work here, because of their 'preferred' status. Perhaps just not unreserving it, letting the G72 system assign it, and then unreserve it at PrimeNet when worker completes it? Like it would still show up in the 'Assignments' page on your site, except without having been assigned on PrimeNet. In other words, a sort of "poaching" from the "GPU Factor" user, where said "poaching" is organized by your gpu.mersenne.info.

Quote:
M51836971 has a factor: 7542321801724532859601
M51838601 has a factor: 1467377969431681619938771654063
M51875963 has a factor: 198176092228584711415158823
M51840083 has a factor: 16188982635533197749247
I've apparently found 16 factors across the last 2 months or so (using 2 GPUs, 7 CPU cores) but found 25% of those factors on two CPU cores in 2 days.

Congrats to all those finding the other 98.4% of the factors!

On further further thought, you would also need to filter for those that have had a test already. I suspect all the expos that are being assigned with an LL done are tests that had error codes; in my experience those are immediately reassigned to another LL worker. (Currently, between 42M and 43M, GPU272 reports 337 expos reserved, but between 0 and 43112609 there are only 125 left to check.) That would also explain why such expos have been reserved. Around half of them will require a further two tests anyways.

The new expo did not have an error code. They simply never had any P-1 test. So they ARE NOT first time LL, but actually DC.

Currently GPU272 has 9 exponents in the 41M range:

Listing 3 of those:
Code:
41995211	LL 3	53	2012-03-02	2012-01-07	2012-01-06	2012-01-06	gpufactor	ll_work

41995553	LL 3	53	2012-03-02	2012-01-07	2012-01-06	2012-01-06	gpufactor	ll_work
In the same range there are 0 with status unproven flagged as LLERR on the PrimeNet Summary

Well then why in the blazes would it assign LL testing?

Supposed to be Xyzzy dropping a big bomb. Looks to be one of the biggest in a while.

Perhaps because Chalsall has a bug where he defines LL test as any exponent > 30M or somesuch and not their actual LL test status on PrimeNet?

Because without the DWIM* directive, Spidy does *exactly* what I tell it.

I made a mistake with a new reservation spider a little while ago (attempting to get "Preferred Candidates"), and it grabbed several hundred candidates between 41M and 45M which had already been LLed (but not P-1'ed).

Before I realized my mistake, all of these were reserved by G72 workers.

Spidy has been instructed to return these to PrimeNet when they are unreserved, or the assigned work completed.

Any work completed will be credited on G72 and PrimeNet, and no candidates will be mis-assigned to "true" LL workers.

(* DWIM stands for Do What I Mean)

I started to put something in to an earlier comment regarding a sudden increase in GPU power in one quarter or another. It started to get too convoluted, so I dropped that part. In that context, such an increase would only be significant for us more plebeian workers if it came from someone other than the stratospheric crowd. A big boost from Xyzzy would only crowd nucleon. I realize that the Xyzzy mountain range has developed a long plateau, but the nucleon ski slope continues apace, and relative to the average slope of Xyzzy seems to be pulling ahead. Of course, if someone like The Judger decided to join this distinctly limited field it would be felt even the stratosphere.

As previously mentioned, Jerry Hallett seems to be set to upset more apple carts before he reaches his natural level in the ranks.

I figured out that that's flashjh, btw. I suddenly understood.

Also, what about that suggestion where everyone drops a bomb all at the same time? That might be felt all the way out to the moon

@chalsall, I seem to recall at least one person who said that his exponent <45M had not been tested once. Are there any of those? (If so, obviously into the LL pool would be best, though without the anon trick.)

Edit: Found it. http://www.mersenneforum.org/showpos...8&postcount=48
Looking back at it though, it seems he was talking about the <47M range, so my post might be worthless...

I don't believe I received anything < 42M, but definitely in the 43M-45M range.
