My Outlook phishing filter provided the following message today (attached).

You have all been warned.

looks legit. i don't subscribe to threads -- so don't know if that is how it is supposed to look like.

what specifically is it phishing for? or are you just going by what outlook told you?

Too many links, methinks....
But it's outlook, and that's a major part of the issue.

Nothing, and nope.

I suspect that some recent change in the anti-phishing filter (it could be Norton Internet Security rather than MS Outlook) caused it to notice the "Trial" part of the subject line and think that I'm being offered a free trial of something or other. The forum notification is no different from what it's ever been.

And definitely it's legit. I told Outlook to enable links, clicked on one, and it took me to a porn site the right mersenneforum.org thread.

So, you clicked the dataram link huh? :P:P
It is purple.

(joking apart, the message looks spam, it is not xyzzy's style, the messages I got when receiving PM's look more pirate-glish :P)

Now really joking apart, you should not subscribe to threads you don't want, and NO OTHER PERSON (mod or god) has the right to subscribe you to a thread without your consent, and I don't believe they did. If some mod will subscribe me to something without my request I would be out of here next minute.

LOL

Yes, one mystery of the Mersenne Forum is that some of the standard thread notifications look different. Maybe it has to do with the type of subscription one has (daily, instant), or with the subforum.

But rest assured that I do subscribe to that mfaktc thread, so that I can stay up to date on developments in GPU computing. Just having a little fun here.
