Thanks for the info. When I said "factoring", I'm not actually sure what process I'm going through at the moment. I'm just doing whatever work gets sent in my direction. "Primality Testing" apparently.
If there's a way to get the GPU involved, I'm all ears. Regarding HT, so basically I'm better off running 4 workers each running 1 thread than 2 workers with 2 threads? |

I was actually more replying to petrw1 than to you, it seems like we've got you fixed up. 2/2 is best, like we said before; what I just said was about when somebody has two workers using one thread apiece, without using the other logical core. As in, running workers on 1&3 only, instead of running one worker on 1&2 and the other on 3&4, as you're doing currently.
As for GPUs, there's a couple of FAQ threads in the GPU forum. As for your worktype, it probably is primality testing. If you see "Seconds per iteration" or something similar than that's what it is. |
