Do you want factors, or the no factor found results, too?

EDIT: When I took up this task, Mr. P-1 said approximately, "You don't have to tell me about factors, but it's OK if you do."
I've settled on saving the contents of uploaded results.txt files in one file and shooting that off to Mr. P-1. No filtering. He can do as he wants with it. He already said that it doesn't have to be all his stuff, though that's all I have from mfaktc at the moment. It's also really easy once the results have been uploaded. Ctl-A, Ctl-X, Ctl-S, (switch files) Ctl-V, Ctl-S. Maybe there's even a way to batch file that. Last fiddled with by kladner on 2011-10-28 at 01:07 |

I don't want to speak too soon but I detect glimmers of light dawning ![]() Admirable as your "grabbing" efforts are, it is a one-off exercize. Provided the new exponents dished out are optimally TFed (72) even the expiries will have no further need for TF. Maybe some P-1. George has just said he will get primenet to dish out 55M+ for TF to 72 when he gets home. I hope there is some mechanism to ensure that only GPUs receive these assignments. Someone seems to be "hoarding" some TF assignments, hence my plea to let primenet and all GPU GIMPS participants get on with this job. As I said, remember this is a great "distributed computing" project, although it is indeed impressive how much a few enthusiastic folk can achieve. It's not a question of "TFahead OR behind the wavefront". Both are needed. David Last fiddled with by davieddy on 2011-10-28 at 01:22 |

Mr. P-1, I would enjoy helping with this project. Please send me 100 assignments.

I hope you will forgive me for airing this in public:
Your command of English is generally so impeccable that one would assume it was your native language. But I don't think anyone in UK, US, Canada or the Southern hemisphere would have used "already" like that. I had the great pleasure of a friendship with a housemate who was the German/French "assistante" at the school I where I first taught. Born in Rwanda (black mother, Belgian father), lived (quote) "in the jungle" (with great pride I may add) till she was seven, when her father took her back to Belgium. Her English was immaculate as well, but it does have its quirks. She said that foreigners had problems with "fun/funny". This was a year or so before ABBA released "Money Money Money". I am in no doubt that "Very funny" means neither "Haha" nor "Peculiar": It means "A lot of fun". For a semi-illiterate guy I seem to have had a lot of literary friends! I would, and I would also say it's a relatively common usage. I'm pretty sure it's a recent evolution of the word, and it is most often used that way by kids, though as you can see, the older kids have grown up.

I guess by recent I mean 20th century then. But that's still relatively recent.

Citation: Restaurant named "So Eat Already!" about 1985 in Bethlehem, PA, on the Lehigh side of the river. BDodson might remember and/or know it.
