I mourn his passing, and give thanks and praises for his exemplary life. My father died from ancillary effects from ALS. It is amazing that Hawking survived for so many years.

That is a truly marvelous tribute.
This Ian Dury ditty occurred to me, flippant though it is. Note the Einstein reference. Here are two of the choruses:

Thanks for making me realise there are only 365 days to this year and all its anniversaries.
