ROFLMAO...

Could be argued this is a bit like the Scientific Method.

Or a game of rugby. Or a game of Go...

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye...

I respectfully disagree.

This is exactly the kind of thing many people find themselves facing. Every single day. In many different frames of reference.

Many of the forumites here have gone through this so many times, they have callus which filters this out such that they don't even notice.

At the end of the day, we all stand alone.

IMHO, some are more prepared for that moment than others...

Once again, it illustrates some people's perception that criticizing their ideas is equal to hurting them personally.

And mildly insulting to mods. Mods (and a huge amount of users) actually do stop ad hominems and plain abuse and ten other kinds of violations. Users who cannot understand that the "you should not have divided by zero in this line" is not an "ad hominem" should first read some vocabulary before, "stretching their mouth to let the big words come right out", to quote Peter Gabriel.

Yup. Snowflakes melt. When in the human manifestation, not without a great deal of noise...

Yup. Unfortunately normal users don't know the efforts the mods are doing to keep the forum "clean", the discussions in reasonable terms, etc., and they don't see the spammers, dorks, insane people, that mods have to confront periodic.
But the picture is fun, non the less.

Sure. He was that "bad guy" who had the "un-welcomed" habit of sending cranks, trolls, idiots, morons and dorks back to the books. He (rightfully) did it to me few times too. In some circles here, he is eagerly missed... (but that may be only my personal opinion, take it with a grain of salt). He also did few mistakes, one of them was trying to teach me algorithms . But the fact is that in topics where he wanted to contribute positively, like deep sh!t related to number theory and math, his contribution was quite valuable, and we learned a lot of things from it. Which I could not say about many people here...
