While factordb is not a part of mersenneforum, I consider behaviour like this - crapflooding a database that so many of our members use - a serious enough offense to warrant a permanent ban from the forum. Goodbye, cmd.

I've noticed that well and the annoying request here.

I also noticed 3.14159 is back... See the story here.

Two other suggestions:
  • There should be a possibility to just search a number in the DB, without adding it, if it is not found. In this case, I may look at it again to see if I made a mistake or rethink about its interestingness or try to factorize it myself.
  • There are factor tables for numbers based on the decimal system (depressions, near-repdigits, plateaus), what about this stuff in other bases? See for example factors-online.com for the hexadecimal analog.

I'm not sure how to implement (or if it's even possible) this, but it would be nice to have a feature that would allow users to note how many ECM curves have been run for a given number at various B1/B2. Obviously a strong potential for abuse, so I understand that it might not be reasonable to do, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

It had been done before, and the result was realllly bad.
