The rally has just finished, and the results are in. They can be found at the bottom of the second post of this thread.
Overall, Lennart/sm5ymt and the PrimeSearchTeam won the rally by a large margin. He tested more candidates - 115647 - than everyone else combined, who tested 110735 pairs. Second place went to odicin and the BOINC_Confederation team, who held off a late surge by team Aggie_The_Pew and user Lumiukko. This was the most successful rally we've ever had. Three records were set - most pairs tested in a day (58,263 candidates on September 20), most primes found in 24 hours (15 primes between September 17, 20:00 CDT and September 18, 20:00 CDT), and greatest number of participants in a day (15 users on September 20). Although we didn't find any twins, we found 48 primes and tested more candidates on September 20 than in the entire three-day rally we had in mid-January. Finally, I'd like to add a word of thanks to the Primegrid admins, who let me spread the word about this rally on their forum. Those of you interested in seeking very large primes can try out their Equinox Challenge, which looks for Woodall primes and starts on September 23, 18:00 GMT. |
