Hi guys:
I have been using this small CPU (an 80552, which is an 8051 with PWM registers and an on-board ADC) for about a decade at work. The problem is, it (or rather the card it lives on) is getting a little small, at 64K and 11MHz. I want to find a replacement for it that is likely to be available in 2020, with just a little more (say 128K program space, and 16 bit internals) computing horses. Recommendations as to where to look? This is going into a motor control, so temperature capability is important. I'd also like to avoid an external parallel bus to main memory. Eric Christenson |

I certainly aren't vouching for 2020 life but if you haven't already have a look at the range available form from microchip's stuff. I don't know if they have 128k stuff ready yet since the site seems to require both JS and flash (why microchip?) so sorry if this is a dead end for you.

I dislike Microchip's website; it's the only one where I have to run IE. Maybe I should bug Dean Kammen about that bit of PC'ness. |
