Some years ago there was a program called RMA (from a contributor of the 15k Primesearch project) which used LLR and newpgen only for Riesel-base-2 numbers to do such task.

I would have mentioned that, but the developer of RMA verbally attacked George (Woltman) and was subsequently banned from this forum. Few here respect him.

The non-quiche-eating real programmer in me (who hasn't touched mfaktc in a week, in the best/worst of styles) suggests that the interfaces between these programs are relatively low bandwidth compared to the calculations being performed...which does not make a good candidate for a monolithic source code. Higher level abstractions, such as unix-style pipes, or standard input and output files, with small scripts tying things together will be more effective -- and help keep down the complexity faced by individual, volunteer developers, as well as allow more or less independent replacement of parts, (especially as we bring more CUDA stuff on-line).

Is there already a Wiki page with the various bits and pieces listed somewhere?

Yes, but he'll be back undeterred the moment it's lifted.

What's new? He's on my list of posts to ignore...permanently...

If we want to go for depth, what drives him to this behavior?

FWIW, cmd is not a member of the forum's "Annoying Members" list.

If we are going to ask such questions, how about those fractional annoying members, of which there are now 3/4?

Now I'm not really trying to defend his bouts of wanton spamming
(OK, I am a good one to talk!)
But his posts are better than those of a few others I won't mention.

1) Usually short
2) No pretence at being comprehensible
3) Music clips are often enjoyable (albeit usually irrelevant)
4) He's from Barcelona

Annoying behaviour:

- coming in here after some month of absence
- posting in a dozen threads (one or more replys)
- 'reactivating' dead-for-months/years threads
- presenting news nobody knows before but no details given because they're secret and all here have to be shot by some organization/government if you should know about/ask for it
