AMD Core unlock, stability?
I wonder who here is using an athlon x3 or phenom x2/x3 and has the 3rd/4th core unlocked on it.
If you tried this,please tell me if it passed the prime95/mprime stresstest for you or not,so i can get the average "sucess ratio". Also,if it failed,did raising the voltage help? Did it stay cool enough with the stock cooler? This is because I am selecting components for a new budget computer,solely dedicated to 24/7 crunching,which should give maximum bang for the buck. For the CPU, I will probably take an Athlon II X3 445 as Intel seemingly can't offer anything comparable for the price. If you think I should better take an X4 640 or some other cpu (<100 dollars), please tell me! Nugget |
