Congrats on a nice prime!
And on your patience, I think you spent hundreds of cpu hours to find it. Well, I spent some too, and I came close with the 542-548k range Maybe there are several primes waiting after the gap

Thanks! Patience was a key to success here
Let's see who will find the next prime for this "k" ![]() BTW: no other primes in 548to550 range

Completed, you might want to check none were skipped since files were merged manually.

Yes, it's available, and we have sieved values to n=1M. It was one of very promising Ks but after a large gap between the last two primes we stopped working on it. Still, there can be a few primes to 1M, but nobody knows...

tempting
![]() I've just noticed that it has ~100-120 candidates left per each range of 1000 - not bad, and LLR will use "irrational base DWT" instead of "zero-padded" so in the era of C2D CPUs it might take not too long to complete it till n=1M. Personally I think that there are at least 2 primes for 560000<n<1000000 Last fiddled with by Cruelty on 2007-03-26 at 14:18 |

Ok, I'm taking it to 1M.
Please post pre-sieved files or email them to me! Thanks, nuggetprime |

Pre-sieved files are posted at the top of this thread. The 5 files there should take about a week on a modern P4. Work those 5 first, Kosmaj usually posts new files in that place as files are reserved. He'll keep up with you, don't worry.
Understand that 560k to 1M is a VERY large amount of work-- many CPU months. -Curtis |
