another update ... it's been 17 days *editted for subtraction purposes*
Recently I began creating data charts for the overall progress of GIMPS from 25-79.3M. Such charts for the last 3 nofactor files can be found at http://www.geocities.com/tommyzink/g...0000_79299999/ As far as the 69M range goes, down to under 1000 at 60 bits and under 2500 more at 61 bits - major slowdown expected once these get to 62 bits - viewable at http://www.geocities.com/tommyzink/gimps/my_progress/ And the beat goes on ....

2/18 update (nearly a whole month has gone by):
All exponents in this range are now factored to at least 61 bits. Fewer than 500 exponents are left at 61 bits, and these are being factored to 63 so as to delay the major slowdown of having nothing under 62. |

Range completed to 62 bits.
Continuing on to 63 bits. |

Holy cow - it's been 2 and a half months since an update.
A few things that have happened in this range: 24.5% of the unfactored exponents in this range are now to at least 63 bits. The average bit depth of an unfactored exponent is now 62.4168 bits. 44 new exponents now have a factor found. Until next update, -Tom |

I'm trying to submit an update through the Manual Submission pages, but I get the error:
Error 03 Results tom11784.tmp not found! Does anyone know why this could be? |

The manual forms don't appear to work at the moment. You should email the results directly to George.

time for a long awaited - well maybe not to some of you - update:
spent the afternoon submitting results while at work 2008 bit*exponent increase (370 from 62- to 63-bit and 819 from 62- to 64-bit) in the 69M range plus 39 more factors found almost half of the exponents are now to 63bits or higher, with an average bit depth of 62.76468 |

hi all - long time no see
spring semester is finally over so I have time to run around getting all of the exponents that my machines have done over the last 5 months or so and send an email to George sometime this week hopefully will post a more detailed update once this occurs |
