I see no reason "your" 700Mhz Celery can't do first time checks.

I've got a couple Celery-500 range machines - including both my dualy Celeries on one or both CPUs - doing first-time checks on 30M+ range factors. They will take a couple years at the rate they're going, but shouldn't slow the project as a whole down at all.

I'd be concerned about the possible errors... The longer the computer works on an exponent the more likely it will have an error... Just the effects of cosmic radiation on the memory would become a possible factor... I'd hate to work on an exponent for that long only to have it be wasted work...

Double checking seems better assignment for that machine, especialy as it can be replaced in a few months. This way I don't have to worry about saving save files. I can just set it up and leave it to run until they replace this machine.

If it would be my private machine (I would have more contro lover it) I would probably run first time tests.
