Question Prime95 on offline PC

Our home has several PCs, one that serves as mostly a media sharing server-- It's on most of the time.

It doesn't have the ability to connect to the internet, though. Is it possible to get the assignments onto it through another PC (preferably by typing them in-- or using a memory stick).

I will be running Prime95 on my other PCs, also.

Any suggestions?

You can use 'manual assignments': http://www.mersenne.org/manual_assignment/
Log in first, then go to manual assignments. There are instructions around on how to do all of the particulars. Typing them in is possible.

When the assignment is done, you can transfer the results file via memory stick to another PC to upload.

Get the assignments from a PC that connects to the Internet (using either the manual or automatic assignment method). Then copy the assignment line(s) to the worktodo.txt file of the offline PC. When the work is done, copy the *.spl file to the Prime95 directory of the online PC, and connect to the server.
Don´t forget to enter your server login name at the offline client, so the results will be correctly credited to you. Also make sure that there is no *.spl file at the Prime95 directory of the online PC when you copy the offline one.
You will have to check the "Use Primenet to get work and report results" field in the Test->Primenet dialog box of the offline PC for it to create the *.spl file.

Lycorn is right. There are a few other things. You may want to check "Do not contact PrimeNet server autmatically" on the off-line machine, it is under Advanced->Manual Communication.
