Yes, it's someone else's turn. I have to wait 24 hours before I can question again.
This is just comment/discussion/recap: Yeah, it was a combination of good guessing based on what someone might come up with (and the fact that you basically stated it is or was a live animal with the "[start narrowing down families etc.]" comment, and not just some product or derivative of an animal, like the wool jumper example), luck, and taking the easy questions early. That last one was starting to get difficult. My other main idea was to ask whether or not it was placental, which could identify it as egg-laying or a marsupial, but I figured the pet question would have a better chance for a better net result, whether the answer was yes or no. If the answer was that it is placental, that would eliminate very few species. I figured the more generic pet question might be more useful, and wasn't such a safe answer that I was wasting too many of our 20 questions. 5 question recap: (1) Is it a vertebrate? Yes (2) Is it a mammal? Yes (3) Does it live primarily on land? Yes (4) Is it a carnivore (including omnivores)? Yes (5) Is it commonly kept as a pet? No So, it's a primarily land-dwelling mammal that is carnivorous/omnivorous and is not commonly kept as a pet. Lots of animals left to sort through, but a great deal have been eliminated. Not a bad run. ![]() As there are only 5,400 species of mammals, (a very small portion of which are likely to be answers) and we've got, very roughly, 15 more bits of info to receive (which is 2^15=32,768 combos), I'd say we'll probably get the answer this time. Of course, it might be a specific animal (e.g. Balto) instead of a type (e.g. dog), but I still think it's quite doable.
