I figured i should start a tread over unusual deaths of various GIMPS crunching machines. I have many stories to share and maybe you do to. I wonder if I am the only one with bad luck
.

6 computers have been decommissioned after being exposed to extreme heat in building fire. They look really cool, however i don’t think that they fit the ATX form factor now.
This also caused the other 5 machines to stop working until they can be examed for damage. I hope that they didn't return bad results ...

It would be a highly unusual building fire that merely corrupted a save file by altering a few bits on a magnetic platter. Usually they just turn the whole computer into a piece of post-modern sculpture. |

Then that'd be a major cooling issue. Actually, my bet is the hard drive was heated past its curie temperature, so I doubt it's recoverable :( |

Well... Indirectly this whole thing is causing 20 other computers not to check in their work
. I hope that they are still running .
