I'm checking on that one periodically. It's on an old Core 2 Duo system on which svchost.exe periodically saturates a core causing prime95 throughput to drop by 2/3.

It eventually went away and I'm not sure why, but I updated all of the drivers, went into the device management and if any device had power management settings I turned it off. Before that, I could reboot and it'd be okay until some random time later. Other people had seen similar things and it seems like something on the system gets into a funky loop of hammering the system with interrupts, etc. Anyway, just something to consider. |
