Quite possibly true, likely even though not knowing the birthdates of more than an extremely small fraction of the participants forces me to conclude that I don't know it to be true. The pre-compiled YAFU executables use GMP-ECM, however they are likely not optimized for your system. If you're planning on contributing significantly to this project, I'd recommend picking up a standalone version of gmp-ecm which is tuned for your system. You might be able to find some here.
