Default Work Types

here are my computer's that I am using:

Debian64 AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Linux64,v25.11,build 2 1.021 2010-07-27 17:18 T 0.0000 GIMPS 24647801 D LL, 5.8% 2010-08-31 13:43 2010-07-27 17:18 2 35

and

slackware64 Intel Core2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz
Linux64,v25.11,build 2 2.991 2010-07-27 14:21 T 3.2594 GIMPS 24602749 D LL, 26.8% 2010-08-02 08:36 2010-07-27 03:31 4 6

Both say work type 'D' and they have a 'T' in status. is D double checking? You can also see that it says LL, 26.8%, I'm guessing this is the actual test. Where can I see a list of all of these abbreviations? How can I make sure that my slackware64 system does the actual test to find the next prime? What if I want to make it search for primes with over 10,000,000 digits to win the prize? Do I change a config file, or do I stop the program and update a setting some how?

Thanks,

David

You can change your default Work Preferences by logging into your mersenne.org account:
Myaccount->
CPU's->
click on name of your CPU->
Work Preferences

and you should be able, to change the preferences in the mprime-client

The exponent, which is processed first, you can see in the file worktodo.txt.
e.g.
[Worker #1]
Test=4FE133A4451FBB6D96ECBFB7B168XXX,3916XXXX,69,1
DoubleCheck=F324D03BCABAA5C89759CFE7940DXXX,2281XXXX,67,1
[Worker #2]
..

You can change the order of the exponents after the "worker"-mark, to
process your favourite Exponent first.

But,first stop your client, before changing the Worktodo.txt

and yes, D stands for Double-Check

.............my bad English

Default List

This list comes from PrimeNet User WebAccess via www.mersenne.org:
GIMPS - what makes sense [default]
TF-LMH - trial factoring LMH
TF - trial factoring
PM1-S - factor P-1 small (future)
PM1-L - factor P-1 large
ECM - factor ECM small
LL - LL first test
D - LL double-check
LL-WR - LL test for world record
LL-10M - LL test 10+ million digits
LL-100M - LL test 100+ million digits
LL-NF - LL test with no factoring
ECM-F - factor ECM FermatPRP - (reserved future)

Normally, you change your work type via GUI setting ("Test">"Worker Windows"). These settings are stored in local.txt and prime.txt as far as I know. I cannot give a more detailed explanation.

AFAIK, ECM-F is happily working now...
