Proxy server / apache experts?

I have a user with proxy server troubles using version 22.9. I have the log files but don't know what is wrong. Attached is an edited log file. It shows I'm connecting to port 8080 of the proxy server. I ask it to get a page from mersenne.org, but it looks like the local Apache server tried to serve the page instead.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

There's a lot of broken proxy servers out there; try adding a Host:mersenne.org header.

I am not a networking guru, so I ask:

you send HTTP/1.0 and get a RECV HTTP/1.1 error: maybe the proxy needs a differently formatted string... I had similar errors in the past.
