I just thought of one more possibility that would help is steer clear of PrimeGrid's rally without any problem: what if we had the rally start and end on a Thursday (instead of a Friday), from August 12-19? That way, we'll end a full day before PrimeGrid's rally begins.

Okay, let's do it then. To reiterate for anyone who missed it: the rally will be from Thursday, August 12 to Thursday, August 19.

The official announcement should be done as soon as possible. I'd really appreciate it if you could take care of it. Can you do that within the next day? You can use the last one as a "skeleton" announcement. I have just enough time on my current trip to respond to various things and update web pages.

Sure, no problem--will do. Do you want me to post similar announcements in some of the major team forums as well? (I'm registered at Free-DC, but not at AMD Users, and I don't think PrimeSearchTeam has a forum...kind of like ROLP whose forum is next to useless. Since Lennart monitors this forum anyway that shouldn't be a problem.)

Yeah, you can do it at Free-DC to see if that makes any difference. ALSO, yeah, AMD users too. Can you also post it at the DC-vault? I'd like to see if we could get a person or 2 from there BUT...

What I would really like to do is ask Lennart or Rytis if PrimeGrid would be OK with us advertising our rally there. Lennart has said that there are some people there that aren't particularly interested in BOINC rating points (Lennart included I'm pretty sure). I'm thinking that they are so big now that they wouldn't mind if we advertised it there since we are also a prime search project. If we got just one medium-sized searcher from there with perhaps 20-30 cores, that'd be really great.

Lennart, would you mind if we advertised the rally at PrimeGrid as well? If so, in which subforum should we do it? Or would you rather do that yourself? I recall that you mentioned a while back that you hoped to bring in a few PrimeSearchTeam members to join you in future rallies. Maybe an announcement in the PrimeSearchTeam forum?
