Okay, I did something dumb. I finished a factorization job with msieve, and then accidentally deleted the log file. I still have all of the other files. Is there a way I can just run the square-root stuff again, and get the factors? [If so, please be as complete as possible on what commands I should run.]

Hi!
As bad things like this can happen to anyone, may i suggest an obvious full backup of the data first ? I mean, right before any "last" stage attempt ... Best regards, scalabis |

Yep, -nc3 is what you're looking for.
Depending on the environment you ran it in, you may need to specify other options, such as where the .dat file is (if not msieve.dat), etc. You can find out the commands with -h, and what you should fill them in as by looking in the directory for equivalent files. It should be fairly safe to just run "msieve -nc3" first, then if it fails at some point, (should be very early) see what other info you need to give it. |

Hi Pace
![]() AFAIK, in the command you're usually running, all you have to change is replace "-nc" by "-nc3". |
