Hmmm ... and now I've found where I squirreled away copies of some posts with reference numbers 16 and 259, from August and December of 2002, respectively.

(So, instead of being about 10 years old, mersenneforum.org is actually less than 8 years old.)

Kidding aside ("Daisy ... Daisy ..."), severe depression (which I had) can interfere with memory - both formation and recall. (I've known this and it doesn't bother me -- just sometimes leads to faulty recall like this when I don't doublecheck some objective documentation.)

But we do know the policy in place is to keep posts and to not edit them (severely) after the fact, to preserve history.

Might it be that the removal I recall was some temporary one to reclaim storage space or whatever, with those posts being restored once the server/database had been upgraded?
