Intel just released several hexa-core chips today, mostly notably the 3.33 GHz i7-980X that's targeted towards consumers.
Is anybody planning to get one? |

The memory bandwidth of the i7 980X is lower than some other 4-core i7.
That is according to this benchmark: http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...i7_980x/5.html Or this: http://www.lostcircuits.com/mambo//i...1&limitstart=3 |

Like the other people already said, the good thing about the Intel's tick-tock cycle is that the mainstream items are getting cheaper and better along the new enthusiastic-oriented offerings.
The i7 930 looks appetizing. |

I didn't think the i7-920 came in different speeds ... but rather it was overclockable:
Code:
NEW ULTIMATE Intel Core i7 920 4.56GHz Extreme SLBEJ D0 Code:
i7-920 - 2.66 Ghz up to 2.93 with turbo boost |

Yeah, there's that coveted D0 stepping. The X3520 is D0, too, AFAIK.
