Ian and I have completed S318 to n=300K; 1 prime was found for n=200K-300K shown below; 1 k remains.
Prime: 56*318^288096+1 Extending reservation to n=400K.

From the range n=200,001 to n=1,000,000 there is a total of:
410,389 Sierpinski tests remaining 54,882 Riesel tests remaining Due to using Prime95, I'm running 1 k on each core on the 12 core Xeon. This means that there is a huge difference in testdepth for the various k's. The test depth is as follows: 2 (709K) 32 (519K) 44 (424K) 50 (372K) 94 (408K) 98 (392K) 104 (324K) 118 (366K) 128 (537K) 158 (351K) 186 (319K) 226 (341K) 338 (329K) 470 (296K) Other k's is tested to n=256K The riesel side has had 2 k´s running on 2 cores each, this means that there is for the 3 smallest k's a difference in testdepth compared to the other 3 k's. In the midle of january testdepth is going to align, because I go from 2 cores per test to 4 cores per test. The testdepth is as follows for the Riesel side: 116 (439K) 134 (435K) 136 (398K) Other k's is tested to n=385K Due to the huge amount of work that I and the sievers at YOYO has put in these 2 bases, wether you like it or not Gary, I would appreciate that both sides gets their reservation extended to n=1,000,000. Thank you! I'm asking this, simply because I would hate with all the work I've done now, if someone came and took a very big prime from me. Take care. |

OK I'll extend the reservation to n=1M. That's a 5+ year task even on a 12 core machine. Just thought I'd mention that. I know you like monstrous reservations. I don't see any mention of primes found. Have there been any primes? That's a large amount of testing with no prime. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2019-11-23 at 22:03 |

I know this is going to be a monstrous task, I expect it to run till the end of next decade, dependant on when I upgrade to an i9-7940X, with AVX-512. In case the money to upgrade doesn't show them self as anticipated, I expect it to take until 2028 (maybe earlier if some heavy weight k's fall with a prime) before n=1M is reached. Worst case scenario is late 2029. Best case scenario is propably 2026. So as you state it is a 5+ years task, even though I currently have 16 cores running 24/7. For the next year I expect an average of 9-10,000 tests per month to complete. Thanks for granting me the confidence that I will stick with this and accepting my request for such a monstreous reservation. The only break in testing is expected in early 2021 when I have both sides tested to n=500K and more sieving will be needed, by me and the great BOINCers at YOYO ![]() Take care
