Under something like a desk or table (the sturdier the better) and hold on. If it moves you move with it. If you are in bed, stay in bed, roll face down and cover yourself with blankets and your head and neck with a pillow. Laying next to a bed or couch is ok. Strong earthquake hits Japan's northern island of Hokkaido; no injuries or danger of tsunami

yeah and apparently some aftershocks as big as 6.6 ( still in tsunami possibility range) have been reported, seems awfully active this year to me.
