Edward Snowden remember the aluminum foil. Some microwave ovens' shielding leaks enough to connect to devices in them, per this PhysicsGirl video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot4_jVFXxUU

Turning on the microwave oven might also prevent connection to devices in it.

Nope. It is "store... store... store... store... store... store...then randomly decide if forward or delete". Haha. You don't send the SMS directly, you have to call a "postmaster" and he handles your texts and decide what to do with it (I had a lot of headache with Ublox 2G modems in the last 2-3 years, we use them in few projects). It was created to be somehow down-compatible with the pagers which preceded it. In theory, the idea was OK, as at the time there were no "messenger servers" and the intended receiver of your SMS may not be reachable at the time you send the SMS. So, the postmaster will collect it, and deliver it later, or delete it after a predefined number of trials.

The main reason many companies like you to register with a phone number is not for the reason they will tell you, i.e. to prevent spam and bots. No. The real reason is to have the identifier to attach to your collected data when they sell the data to others.

No phone number? Oh, okay, then go away, your anonymous data is not valuable. Come back when you have a number and then we can make the $$$s we are worried you might be a bot.

Yeah. Known.

This actually involved a claimed attack against "my tribe". I took it very seriously.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It was of course all brought into my analysis matrix.
