Busy Labor Day weekend here. I'll post some files on both base 6 drives 1:00 PM CDT (6:00 PM GMT) on Tuesday.

Max, here is what I'm thinking that it makes more sense to do at this point: Let's post a single huge file on both drives. That is post n=370K-500K here and maybe a 50K size file on the Sierp drive. What people can do is just pull the size of file that they want right out of the beginning of it. As people reserve ranges, we just remove the part from the beginning that has been reserved.

I think we are really limiting people, especially Lennart, on how much work they can do by posting many small files.

There's one thing that we'll probably want to change by posting a single huge file: We WILL need to remove k's from the posted file as primes are found. It just takes away too much time and too many resources away from the project goals not to do so for such a large n-range.

To all: By doing this, we're trusting that you can come up with your own reasonable-sized reservations. As fast as ranges are being done, we'd ask that you reserve something that you can complete in < ~5-6 days. People have been great about reservation sizes on these base 6 drives so I think this new approach will work well. Up to n=500K on the Riesel side, since Lennart has already done two k's, there will only be 5 k's in the file. So you may be able to take a larger range than you'd otherwise expect.

Two final details: (1) In your reservation, please make them in multiples of n=1000. (2) Make sure that you include the highest multiple of 1000 in your file but not the lowest. That is, if you reserve n=400K-401K, don't include any k/n pair for n=400000 but DO include any k/n pair for n=401000.

Okay, that sounds good. BTW, remember to remove k=1597 for n>370K since Lennart's doing that one separately.

@Lennart: heck, since after this there will be only 4 k's remaining that haven't been tested for n=370K-500K, would you possibly like to take all the remaining four for that range?

Edit: P.S. at Gary: I'll post the big files on the two drives shortly, since I do have the time to do this today.

Okay, the big file has been posted. It is for n=370K-500K, for the four remaining k's that Lennart hasn't done for that range.

LOL...nah, don't worry, with the new big file things should be a lot more flexible so Lennart won't need to worry about grabbing individual k's like this when we run out of reservation files. There should be plenty of work to go around.

BTW: I'll post the big file for the Sierp. side within the next hour, unless Gary gets to it first.
