I'm not saying I can but I'm going to try no matter what is said. oh if I've thought this out right to end in 7 or 1 respectively the powers of 2 must follow as primes found by y=4x+3 and y=4x+1 respectively does that narrow the search enough to try a few ?

All primes except 2 are of the form 4n+1 or 4n+3 (i.e. they are odd). So this would not narrow the search at all. You clearly do not have a knowledge of primary school maths, let alone secondary school maths. I simply reassert my statement:

Go away from the computer back into your playpen and have fun playing with your toys (with patterns on them).

ALL PRIMES ABOVE 2 ARE OF THE FORM 4N+1 OR OF THE FORM 4N+3.

For the third time: Go away from the computer back into your playpen and have fun playing with your toys (with patterns on them).

Okay I suck still not going to stop trying maybe there are patterns to which n values work in each equation if so that could narrow the field.

look science man,go and do some research on mersenne primes.read the page on wikipedia, follow flourans links,if you have any trouble understanding some of it,i for one will be willing to help you learn, and others may also help.but if you dont try and learn what you are talking about noone will try help you.for starters, the exponent of a mersenne prime has to be prime itself.

IMO, you should be banned by those members here who are more powerful than me (the red-username ones). This is because you, unlike some other cranks, don't stop even when you know this will lower your reputation among us even further. If you don't want me to insult you even worse, GO AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER BACK INTO YOUR PLAYPEN AND HAVE FUN PLAYING WITH YOUR TOYS (WITH PATTERNS ON THEM).

There is a difference between perseverance and stupidity. Don't be stupid (like you are trying really hard to be right now), but be perseverant and patient. Look at the links I gave you, and if they confuse you, take on Dougal's offer (I would be willing to help you also). But for goodness sake, STOP this useless, futile task.
Learn the materials and then try to solve some problems (start simple of course). Otherwise, you will be like a house without a foundation, which is doomed to destruction.
I used to make the same mistake; I was stubborn, and whenever someone told me to read the materials, I took it as an insult rather than helpful advice.

So, I repeat, STOP this useless, futile task of yours and LEARN and ask MEANINGFUL questions.

using theorems from http://primes.utm.edu/mersenne/ could we not try to use the biggest prime known to find a even bigger k that we can plug into theorem 3 to try and find a bigger prime q ? I'll admit i still don't completely understand this stuff but I'm willing to learn my hardest part so far I think was actually on wikipedia in the theorems section of it.
