The 2-GB User-Mode Virtual Memory Limitation
64-bit programs use a 16-terabyte tuning model (8 terabytes User and 8 terabytes Kernel). 32-bit programs still use the 4-GB tuning model (2 GB User and 2 GB Kernel). This means that 32-bit processes that run on 64-bit versions of Windows run in a 4-GB tuning model (2 GB User and 2GB Kernel). 64-bit versions of Windows do not support the use of the /3GB switch in the boot options.

Well, I have a P4 with just 128M and it runs the same speed as any of my other boxes. Cheap-o mobo, samsumg ram, cheap-o case, and it's been a solid performer. It even acts as my printer and scanner machine. Go fig.

Wow! Very interesting article. So interesting I might go to a us vendor to get my ram to get 128M sticks of PC4000 ram.

Ok, I'm up and running with the 2.4C @ 3.0 with the P4P800 and one 512 MB stick of the Hyper-X Kingston 3500.

Low 50s - I'm impressed. My 2.8GHz (800MHz bus) CPU is running at 2.8GHz, and it's temp is 62degC at with running 1x 20M LL. I think I need a better heatsink.

Anyone have an opinion on heat?

Don't worry about the heat until your iteration times start to slow... That means the CPU is throttling...

My P4P800 at that speed ran around 48-53C...

Honestly, anything under 70C is cool with me...

If anyone is interested here is the heatsink/fan I have at work.
Works like a charm but despite what they say seems quite loud to me, maybe it's the two other high flow rate case fans...

those things are pretty noisy i gotta say. try out the zalman 7000-cu, it's really quiet in comparison and has excellent cooling performance.
