Thanks for taking care of that Max.

There are just a couple of more links for results files that are still giving the forbidden message. They are for PRPnet port 2000 at http://nplb-gb1.no-ip.org/prpnet/todayresults_2000.txt and for LLRnet port 4000 at http://nplb-gb1.no-ip.org/llrnet/todayresults_4000.txt.

Hey, what the heck? That's weird. It seems that they're getting messed up all over again when the system has to copy over the placeholder file to that URL (every 15 minutes) since there's no results.

Oh...I figured it out.

The original for the placeholder file didn't have its permissions set properly, and as such it overwrote my fix for those two files every time it was copied over them. Should be fixed now.

Yes, they've been fixed ever since the next copy-off after I made the change. I was planning to initate a page update to put the fix into place right away but forgot. Oh well, 15 minutes isn't too long a time to wait.

I have dried out PRPnet doublecheck port 2000. The server is now removed from service.

Uh, Gary, see my email...I don't think we were ever planning on turning that one into an LLRnet server or even just getting rid of it. It's not like there's any reason to, given that its effort is extremely low-priority and that it's useful as a fallback server.

Max,

As we discussed in PMs a few weeks ago, NPLB is reverting back to all LLRnet servers. We're not getting rid of a double-check server. Just changing it to an LLRnet server. That's why I quickly dried it out when I saw that it had < 1000 pairs left.

Feel free to load up LLRnet port 2000 with the next doublecheck range and update the LLRnet servers for NPLB thread. It should have no impact on AMDave since it's the same port #. This thread should go by-by within the next few weeks. It will be good to have all servers incorporated into one thread. It will also be easier for you to maintain.

PRPnet ports 3000 and 5000 have now dried out and will be removed.

I'm in the process of loading LLRnet ports 3000 and 5000 now for the 5th and 6th drives now. It should be done within about 30 minutes after this posting.

Ian, Karsten, and Vaughan and anyone else who was staying away from our 5th and 6th drives due to PRPnet, I'd like to recommend them now that we'll have them on LLRnet since it is now running at the full speed of LLR 3.8. Both drives, which contain k=400-800, are behind k=800-1001 as well as k=1003-1400 as to how far they have been tested. Time to roll!

With the servers now in their final resting place on my machine, we're finally nearing complete stability on NPLB servers for the foreseeable future. It's been a very long road and that road is nearing its end.

During our recently completed rally, we ran a PRPnet server for the 5th Drive on port 9000 alongside the primary LLRnet server on port 3000. It performed quite nicely, and per discussion between Gary and I we've decided to keep the server on as a permanent alternative for those who would like to use PRPnet on the drive that is to be our primary focus for the rest of the year.

Depending on how popular the server turns out to be, we'll keep it loaded with appropriately-sided ranges from the 5th Drive; at the very least we'll plan to load 1K ranges to keep it going even if it doesn't get much business. The idea is to have an alternative available at all times to the LLRnet servers that the majority of the project runs on, for anyone who finds it more convenient to use PRPnet given their specific setup.
