I've done that, but my mom's hippie'esque. I think if I tried that when it's just me and my dad, he'd be quite unhappy with me. Also, I think a lot of parents(in the US) would yell at their kids and/or call the practice childish.

Mind you, I'm not stating an opinion about people who do this, I think it's awesome, just saying not everybody appreciates the awesomeness.

Oil platform blaze off Louisiana leaves workers missing

Quote:
An oil sheen is being monitored in waters nearby. The Coast Guard said there appeared to be little risk of a major oil spill because production was shut off before the fire, and Black Elk told authorities that any spill could be as little as 28 gallons.
The latest potentially deadly offshore incident comes a day after oil giant BP Plc reached an agreement to pay record penalties of $4.5 billion for its role in the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster, which spewed 4.9 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico and killed 11 workers.
I'm glad they weren't working pumping fuel but you'd think they'd learn to not have to do this.

A three year old, named ثعلب (fox), born on 4/25, got to the Italian kindergarten with a shirt with embedded "I'm an extracomunitarian born on Italian Day of Liberation".

Mother, father, grandparents, uncles, sisters, brothers and cousins were invited to join him in Italy, receiving $200 a month each, a free home, free social security, free medicare assistance, free meals, free school education, free transportation, a new job, free superannuation for the elders, free cellular phones, free legal services.

And this happens for the 3,000,000 extracomunitarians who left their home country and chose to illegally establish in Italy as their new country, while Italian taxation rose up to 69% of earnings and our unemployement for young people rose to 25%.

So, the Palestine's were finally able to gain "non-permanent observer membership" with the United Nations.

http://english.alarabiya.net/views/2...30/252677.html

Interestingly, several members of the United Nations said this was an act of terrorism.

WTF?

And now we hear that Israel is building out a whole lot of settlements in response. Illegal; but what do they care?

Kind of strange considering that Israel was bequeathed by those who didn't actually own the land.

Can Humans Be Controlled By Tiny Parasites?

Quote:
Could microscopic parasites have the ability to take control of a human being? Scientists are starting to think so.
A third of the world's population may have a parasitic infection that scientists believe to have an impact on human behavior.
The protozoan parasite, called Toxoplasma gondii, has long been considered to be an "asymptomatic" parasite in humans. But lab tests and a new report suggest that it may cause or intensify severe forms of schizophrenia, could have an impact on how human hormones are secreted in the brain, and may cause personality changes.
