CPU for LL

I know that originally, Prime95 was always better optimized for the Pentium architecture. However, that has been some time and I was wondering if there would be that much difference in performance for LL tests on 64 bit quad core AMDs vs the Intel i7 or Q6700 etc. Thanks.

The actual version is optimized for Core 2 Duo and Intel C. i7. Check out the actual software thread for prime95 from George about the actual optimizations.
