Default Avatars...

Instead of hosting our own avatars, I have enabled remote linking of avatars... There are a few rules I need you to observe...

- No pornography...
- No cigarette or alcohol logos...
- Animations are fine, but keep the file size small... 8192 bytes or less is a good guideline...
- Link to GIF or JPG images only...
- Keep the size at or under 100 pixels square...
- Link to only what you pay for... In other words, don't link to intel.com for an Intel logo... Load the image onto your own web server...

Now, an explanation... Originally we had 580 avatars in our collection... Each was areound 2 kilobytes in size, so just viewing the collection used up around a megabyte of bandwidth... Plus, most of the pictures were a bit weird...

By remotely linking to avatars, this BBS does not have to pay for the bandwidth... The downside is it is possible to link to a super large picture that will take over the entire screen and/or take forever to download...

Adding an avatar is very easy... Just go to your profile and fill out the avatar section... Make sure you submit the form after it is filled out...

If you have any questions or need more assistance just email me...

Have fun!

It's okay to link to PNG graphics too, but be aware that IE doesn't render them properly...

Hehe, that's the logo of a soccer team which was not bad many years ago. Before 1990 it was one of the best soccer teams of East Germany.

I'll stay with the AMD arrow.
I'm sure they have a small soccer team too.

Or make it 8191 bytes, since 8191 is a Mersenne prime! :)

It may be bad (large size 60k) but it is hilarious.
