OK, everyone...please no reservations finishing past the 20th. Let's rock and roll until then. We'll look to start the drive on the 21st.

I'll start following up on both current and dormant reservations here shortly after I get Ian's final factors up to P=19T removed and the new file sent to Max.

Like we did with our 1st drive, I'll have a thread specifically dedicated to k's that are being pulled out of the drive to make sure they are followed up on as the drive progresses.

Sometime on Friday, I'm going to incorporate the deeper sieved files with our k=3010-3200 mini-drive. The idea being that if anyone reserves ranges there after that, they will get a file sieved to P=19T (P=30T after the sieving effort is done) instead of the current P=4T!

The fact is that neither the latest WinRAR or whatever is on my Linux machines could read his file.

Gawd, I long for simpler days on this stuff.

Actually, you *do* have a pretty-well-updated set of software; it's just that quite rarely is anything other than the Deflate algorithm used within the ZIP format. It seems that a new version of WinZIP is to blame, making a rather abrupt change to a new format. Oh well, at least it probably won't be too hard for other archivers' developers to implement in their programs, so probably new versions of those will come out soon. In the meantime...everybody's best off using ZIP w/Deflate (a.k.a. "Classic WinZIP format") unless you know that the person you're sending it to can handle something more advanced. At the very least, anyone with a Windows system (or even most commonly-configured Linux systems) can open that just fine.

For future reference: I personally can handle any archive formats that 7-zip can handle, which is essentially anything out there. So if you're sending a file to me, feel free to use whatever is most convenient for you and provides the optimal rate of compression for the task.

19T - 20T finished and emailed to Gary.

I will reserve a 500G block that I can finish in 3 days, I guess that is 28T to 28.5T. So that's what I will load into the systems now. And then that will be if for me until after I return from a trip in a couple weeks. They should be finished on the 17th.

22050G-22100G complete, factors attached. Not reserving any more sieving, at least for now. I'm resuming work on k=349 and 353.
