Rank Change Errors on the Top Producers Reports

Can some one check the logic for calculating rank changes? I don't think this is a big deal but I have noticed some errors in the Totals Overall and the Trial Factoring reports. For example, yesterday I was 88th on the Totals Overall report. Today I am 90th, but my rank changes show up 7 for 90 days, even for 30 days, down 1 for 7 days, and down 1 for 1 day. On Monday I was 14th on Trial Factoring and today I am 15th. My rank changes are even for 90 days, down 2 for 30 days, and down 1 for 7 days.

There's no necessary inconsistency. Noting that you were 88th yesterday and 90th today tells us nothing about your changes over seven, thirty, and ninety days.

Note also that it is possible, for example, to be showing no change at seven days yesterday, drop a rank today, but show as up 1 at seven days today. This would happen if today you were 1 rank up on seven days ago, but 1 rank down on eight days ago.

That's an apparent inconsistency. Maybe the server's past ranks are all at 00:00 UTC or something like that, so there can be differences between its data & our observations?

Here is another data point. Yesterday, at 05/01/09 21:09 one of my V4 "borged" PCs reported a LL result. It was my only reported result. The Totals Overall report for 05/02/09 at 8:00 utc now shows me as 89th. The rank changes show up 8 for 90 days, up 1 for 30 days, even for 7 days, and up 1 for 1 day.

You are completely correct. My first post didn't provide nearly enough information. If memory serves me correctly, I was 88th on the Totals Overall report on 04/20/09. At that time I was up 7 for 90 days, and up 3 for 30 days. The rank changes looked funny to me then because I have been "running in place" (i.e. moving up & down 2 or 3 places) for both Totals Overall and Trial Factoring since January or December. During the next few days I have several results that will finish on PCs that I control and I promise to keep detailed notes so we can figure this out.

Assuming there are still some people reclaiming v4 accounts this is not unexpected. The way the server computes the 1,7,30,90 day rank changes is to see the total that many days ago and compare your rank then and now. If you claim v4 credits from 35 days ago, even though your CPU years may have gone up today, your rank hasn't really changed today according to the server since you did not finish any work today.
